Filter Care Guide

Replacement Schedule

• Carbon filters: Replace every 2 weeks under normal use (1–2 pets, filtered tap water). Each kit includes 6 filters — a 3-month supply.
• Sponges: Replace every 2–4 weeks, or whenever the sponge appears discolored, compressed, or restricted in flow. Each kit includes 6 sponges — a 3-month supply.

Replace sooner if you notice any of these signs:

• Water flow slows noticeably
• Water takes on an unusual taste or odor
• Filter or sponge appears visibly dirty or clogged
• You have 3 or more pets or use hard, unfiltered tap water

Routine Fountain Cleaning

• Rinse the fountain bowl and pump weekly to prevent mineral and biofilm buildup.
• Deep-clean the entire fountain — including the pump impeller — every 2–4 weeks with mild dish soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly before reassembling.
• Use the included cleaning brush to clear the pump inlet and tubing.
• Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as residue can be harmful to pets.

What These Filters Can and Cannot Do

• The 5-layer carbon filters are designed to help reduce sediment, hair, chlorine taste, and odors from tap water.
• They are not designed to purify untreated well water, salt water, or heavily contaminated water sources.
• These filters do not replace the need for regular fountain cleaning — a clean fountain and a fresh filter work together for best results.

• Not compatible with the Penthouse Paws Smart Wireless Water Fountain — that model uses a separate hollow fiber filter (sold separately).
