The Sumter Humane Society is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Americus, Georgia, that has provided a critical safety net for orphaned cats and dogs since 1984. Relying almost entirely on private donations and grants to extend care beyond limited local government funding, the society provides essential medical treatment, basic vaccinations, and behavioral enrichment for animals in distress.
