Owen County Friends of Animals (OCFA) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization based in Owenton, Kentucky, dedicated to protecting and caring for the community's displaced companion animals. Working hand-in-hand with the local municipal shelter to dramatically reduce euthanasia rates, the organization provides every at-risk pet with essential veterinary triage, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventative care.

Operating without a brick-and-mortar facility of their own, the organization relies entirely on a dedicated network of local foster homes to provide safe, nurturing environments where dogs and cats can decompress. Supported wholly by public donations and grassroots fundraising, OCFA coordinates vital transport networks with out-of-state rescue partners to move animals from overcrowded rural areas to regions with higher adoption demands.
