Owen County Friends of Animals (OCFA) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Owenton, Kentucky, dedicated to protecting local displaced companion animals. Working alongside the local municipal shelter to reduce euthanasia rates, the organization provides at-risk pets with essential veterinary triage, age-appropriate vaccinations, and preventative care.

Operating without a physical shelter, OCFA relies on a network of local foster homes to give animals a safe, nurturing environment to decompress. Funded by public donations and grassroots efforts, the group also coordinates transport networks with out-of-state rescue partners to move animals from rural shelters to regions with high adoption demand.
