Ashe Humane Society is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in West Jefferson, North Carolina, dedicated to protecting companion animals across rural Ashe County. Operating independently of county funding, the society rescues dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia at the municipal shelter, providing essential medical care and vaccinations.

Operating entirely as a foster-based network, the organization places rescued pets directly into private family homes for proper socialization. Funded wholly by public donations, the team combats pet overpopulation through a monthly spay/neuter transport program and an active Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative for community cats.
