Sailing and Saving Lives is a veteran-owned, 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue based in Chapin and Columbia, South Carolina, dedicated to pulling companion dogs from overcrowded, at-risk municipal shelters. The organization provides rescued pets with essential medical care, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and safe decompression away from stressful shelter environments.

Operating entirely through a volunteer foster network rather than a physical facility, the rescue cares for dogs in home settings to evaluate temperament and build confidence. Through its signature "Shelter Dogs Sail" initiative, the group takes adoptable dogs out on boating and water excursions to showcase their personalities and connect them with loving, permanent families.
