Nickel City Canine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue organization based in Western New York, serving the Buffalo and Greater Niagara region. The organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned,stray, abused, and at-risk dogs—pulling animals from overcrowded municipal and high-kill shelters and providing comprehensive intake veterinary care, core vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, and spay/neuter surgeries.

Operating entirely through a network of volunteer foster homes rather than a traditional brick-and-mortar shelter facility,the rescue socializes dogs in domestic home environments. Nickel City Canine Rescue is funded entirely through public donations, community fundraisers, and standard adoption fees, placing fully vetted dogs into screened permanent homes.
