Misfit Mountain is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill rescue and sanctuary based in Clyde, North Carolina, serving Buncombe, Haywood, and Jackson counties. The organization provides rescue, medical rehabilitation, and rehoming services for dogs, cats, farm animals, and pets with disabilities or chronic medical needs.

Operating through a regional foster network alongside a 5-acre property that offers permanent sanctuary and temporary crisis boarding, the group prepares adoptable animals for permanent placement while providing lifelong refuge to unadoptable residents. Funded primarily by donations and proceeds from on-site campsite bookings, Misfit Mountain works to prevent euthanasia caused by shelter crowding or financial hardship.
