Journey Home Rescue Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Charleston County, South Carolina, dedicated to saving dogs facing euthanasia in overcrowded, rural municipal shelters. Acting as a vital bridge for under-resourced shelters, the volunteer-run alliance pays for critical medical costs, supplies essential veterinary triage, and handles complex multi-state transport logistics for at-risk animals.

Operating as a unique matchmaking and transport system, the alliance rescues an average of 30 to 40 dogs per week and stabilizes them in local foster care for up to two weeks. Once vetted, volunteers coordinate safe transport networks to move the dogs to reputable companion rescue partners across more than 20 states to eliminate preventable shelter euthanasia.
