Hopewell Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill feline rescue and shelter based in Hopewell, Virginia. Serving the community since 1960 as Virginia’s oldest cat-exclusive rescue, the organization focuses on protecting abandoned, stray, and surrendered cats and kittens, providing medical triage, core vaccinations, FIV/FeLV testing, and mandatory spay/neuter surgeries. It also supports the local community through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) guidance and a dedicated pet food pantry.

Operating primarily from a physical shelter facility on Oaklawn Boulevard alongside a volunteer foster care network, the society evaluates, socializes, and prepares felines for permanent placement. Hopewell Humane Society is almost entirely volunteer-run and relies on private donations, adoption fees, and community fundraising to sustain its operations and veterinary care.
