Antietam Humane Society
The Antietam Humane Society (AHS) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, dedicated to promoting animal welfare through progressive care, sheltering, and community advocacy. Operating a physical adoption center on Lyons Road, the society serves as a critical safety net for stray, abandoned, and surrendered companion animals across southern Franklin County by providing essential vaccinations, diagnostic screenings, and behavioral assessments.
Beyond shelter operations, AHS works aggressively to combat regional pet overpopulation through an on-site, low-cost feline clinic that provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries for owned pets and free-roaming community cats via a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) framework. Funded primarily by public donations and grassroots fundraising, the organization also employs humane personnel to investigate animal cruelty complaints and hosts community initiatives like youth reading programs to aid in animal socialization.

The PetAve.com Promise
Animals over profits: Unlike typical corporate chains, we are completely against selling animals — always, now, and forever.
You choose where 25% of the earnings goes: We believe in full transparency — we calculate this 25% before paying for any executive salaries or business overhead. By skipping the fancy corporate costs, we ensure the money actually lands where it belongs: with the animals.
