Almost Home Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization based in Southfield, Michigan, serving the greater Metro-Detroit area and surrounding communities. The organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned, stray, abused, and at-risk companion animals—primarily dogs and cats—while providing comprehensive intake veterinary care, core vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm treatment, and mandatory spay/neuter surgeries.

Operating entirely through a network of volunteer foster homes rather than a traditional brick-and-mortar shelter facility, the rescue socializes pets in domestic home environments. Almost Home Animal Rescue is funded entirely through public donations, community fundraisers, and standard adoption fees, placing fully vetted animals into screened permanent homes.

Animals over profits: Unlike typical corporate chains, we are completely against selling animals — always, now, and forever.

You choose where 25% of the earnings goes: We believe in full transparency — we calculate this 25% before paying for any executive salaries or business overhead. By skipping the fancy corporate costs, we ensure the money actually lands where it belongs: with the animals.
